When introducing a global, game-changing therapy to prevent and treat hyperparathyroidism, Abbott Laboratories wanted to establish authority in the category at launch. We created the unique and memorable name Zemplar, derived from the superlative ‘exemplary’. The name suggests superior efficacy with a strong, confident tone befitting a category leader.
